Crystal Ngawaka

"Ko Crystal Ngawaka toku ingoa. I am married to Ruanuku Ngawaka from Rangiahua Motu.

I would like to be a part of the Ngatiwai o Aotea Kawa Marae Trust Board as I have financial and accountancy skills that I believe will be valuable to the ongoing activities of the Trust.

Having lived on Aotea for 4 years in the past, I have gained a deep respect for the land, the people and the culture.

I currently work full-time as an Accountant for a business called RightWay, based in Auckland. I have been employed here for 4 years now and have experience in preparation and analysis of annual financial statements, taxation management, GST returns, cashflow forecasts and business advice. I am Xero certified and am proficient in the use of technology. I have developed strong relationships with my clients and colleagues, and it is a pleasure to be able to help small businesses grow and achieve their goals.

I have put my Chartered Accountant studies on hold as working full-time and raising three tamariki takes up most of my time. However, as a family we plan to reside again on Aotea in the future, and to find or create work to sustain ourselves and be contributing members to the wider community. It would be a privilege to use my financial / accountancy experience and skills to be able to help the Trust / Iwi achieve its own goals in the best way possible.
