Kia ora whanau, I’m Grand-daughter of Te Ruawai (James) Ngawaka and Freda Ngawaka (nee McGee), and daughter of Karen Ngawaka and Bob Moyer (Grand Rapids, Michigan). I was brought up in the Bay of Plenty (Whakatohea), before moving into my Ngatiwai takiwa to pursue study and work. I’ve now established myself in Auckland for the past two years, and have the opportunity to learn more about my Ngatiwai/Ngati Rehua whakapapa and give back to my hapu through serving on Kawa Marae Trust rōpū.

I am currently working as a project coordinator in the banking sector, and my professional background includes implementing new company-wide policies, and engineering development through to certification and product release.

I’m looking forward to working with the Kawa Marae Trustees to provide some fresh insight and offer support in the pursuit of our future aspirations
